Ways to Uninstall and Install zip Ubuntu 22.04

This is InfoZIP’s zip program. It produces files that are fully compatible with the popular PKZIP program; however, the command line options are not identical. In other words, the end result is the same, but the methods differ. :-) In this tutorial, I will show you ways to install zip Ubuntu 22.04.

Install zip using APT

This is one of the popular ways to install any Ubuntu packages because it is simple to understand, even if you are a Linux novice. Following these instructions to install zip on your Ubuntu 22.04.

Step 1: You must update the APT package repository cache before attempting to install, update, or remove any packages. Update the APT database to download new packages from Ubuntu. Opening the terminal and executing this Linux command:

sudo apt-get update

Step 2: Start the package installation on Ubuntu 22.04. After updating, you can install zip Ubuntu by executing this command in the terminal.

sudo apt install zip

Install zip using Aptitude

With Aptitude, users can view a list of available packages and manage their installation, upgrade, and removal of packages. If you didn’t install it on Ubuntu, you need to install it by executing this command.

sudo apt install aptitude

After installing aptitude, you can now install zip, just following these steps:

Step 1: Update the APT database to download new packages from Ubuntu. Launch the terminal and enter the following Linux command:

sudo apt-get update

Step 2: Install the package on Ubuntu 22.04. You can now install zip Ubuntu by executing this command in the terminal.

sudo aptitude -y install zip
