Ways to Uninstall or Install xshogi Ubuntu 22.04

Gnushogi is a computer player for Shogi (Japanese chess). I will show you how to install xshogi on Ubuntu 22.04 in this tutorial.

Requirements

  • Operating system: Ubuntu 22.04 or older versions with more than 2GB RAM
  • Privileges: Make sure you are able to execute sudo commands.

Prerequisites to install xshogi on Ubuntu 22.04

Install xshogi Ubuntu 22.04

Install xshogi using APT

This is a popular method for installing any Ubuntu packages because it is simple to understand, even if you are a Linux beginner. Following these steps to get xshogi on your Ubuntu 22.04.

Step 1: You must update the APT package repository cache before attempting to install, update, or remove any packages. Update the APT database to download new packages from Ubuntu. Opening the terminal and executing this Linux command:

sudo apt-get -y update

Step 2: Install the package on Ubuntu 22.04. After updating, you can install xshogi Ubuntu by pasting this command into the terminal and pressing Enter.

sudo apt-get -y install xshogi

Install xshogi using Aptitude

You must run this command to install Aptitude if you haven’t already done so on Ubuntu.

sudo apt-get -y install aptitude

After installing it, you can now install xshogi by following these steps:
