How to Uninstall and Install usbip on Ubuntu 22.04

USB/IP is a system for sharing USB devices over the network. In this guide, I will show you how to install usbip on Ubuntu 22.04.

Prerequisites

  • OS: Ubuntu 22.04 or older Ubuntu versions
  • Privileges: Check that you can run sudo commands.

Install usbip Ubuntu 22.04

Install usbip using APT

This is one of the popular ways to install any Ubuntu packages because it’s easy to follow, even if you are a newbie in Linux. Following these instructions to install usbip on your Ubuntu 22.04.

Step 1: Update the APT database to download new packages from Ubuntu. Opening the terminal and executing this Linux command:

sudo apt update

Step 2: Start the package installation on Ubuntu 22.04. You can now install usbip Ubuntu by executing this command in the terminal.

sudo apt-get -y install usbip

Install usbip using Aptitude

Users can manage their installation, upgrade, and removal of packages with Aptitude and view a list of the packages that are currently available. If you haven’t already installed it on Ubuntu, run this command to do so.

After that, you can now install usbip by following these steps:
