How to Uninstall and Install tint Ubuntu 22.04

TINT Is Not Tetris(tm) …at least the name isn’t. In this guide, I will show you ways to install tint Ubuntu 22.04.


  • Operating system: Ubuntu 22.04 is needed for tint to work
  • Privileges: Make sure you are able to execute sudo commands.

Prerequisites to install tint on Ubuntu 22.04

Install tint Ubuntu 22.04

tint is one of the popular ways on Ubuntu now so that this tutorial will show you how to install it in various ways. Choose the one that you think is easy and you can follow.

Install tint using APT

This is one of the most popular methods for installing Ubuntu packages because it’s easy to follow, even if you are a newbie in Linux. Following these steps to install tint on your Ubuntu 22.04.

Step 1: Obtain new packages from Ubuntu by updating the APT database. Opening the terminal and executing the following Linux command:

sudo apt-get update

Step 2: Start installing the packages on Ubuntu 22.04. After updating the system, you can install tint Ubuntu by executing this command in the terminal.

sudo apt -y install tint

Install tint using Aptitude

You must run this command to install Aptitude if you haven’t already done so on Ubuntu.

sudo apt-get install aptitude

After installing aptitude, you can now install tint, just following these steps:

Step 1: The APT package repository cache needs to be updated before you try to install, update, or remove any packages. Update the APT database to download new packages from Ubuntu. Launching the terminal and entering the following Linux command:

sudo apt -y update

Step 2: Start the package installation on Ubuntu 22.04. After updating the system, you can install tint Ubuntu by pasting this command into the terminal and pressing Enter.

sudo aptitude install tint

Uninstall tint on Ubuntu 22.04
