How to Install and Uninstall sway on Ubuntu 22.04

sway (SirCmpwn’s Wayland compositor) is a tiling Wayland compositor and a drop-in replacement for the i3 window manager for X11. It works with your existing i3 configuration and supports most of i3’s features, plus a few extras. This means it is a minimalist, tiling window manager. In this guide, I will show you how to install sway on Ubuntu 22.04.

Requirements to install

  • OS: Ubuntu 22.04 or older versions with more than 2GB RAM
  • Privileges: Ensure that you are able to execute the sudo commands line.
