How to Install and Uninstall steamcmd Ubuntu 22.04

Steam (http://www.steampowered.com) is a software content delivery system developed by Valve software (http://www.valvesoftware.com). There is some free software available, but for the most part the content delivered is non-free. In this tutorial, I will show you ways to install steamcmd Ubuntu 22.04.

Requirements to install

  • Operating system: Ubuntu 22.04 or older versions with more than 2GB RAM
  • Privileges: Make sure that you can run the sudo commands line.

Prerequisites to install steamcmd on Ubuntu 22.04

Install steamcmd Ubuntu 22.04

Install steamcmd using APT

This is one of the popular ways to install any Ubuntu packages because it’s easy to follow, even if you are a newbie in Linux. Following these instructions to get steamcmd on your Ubuntu 22.04.

Step 1: You must update the APT package repository cache before attempting to install, update, or remove any packages. Update the APT database to download new packages from Ubuntu. Opening the terminal and executing this Linux command:

sudo apt -y update

Step 2: Start the package installation on Ubuntu 22.04. You can now install steamcmd Ubuntu by executing this command in the terminal.

sudo apt install steamcmd

Install steamcmd using Aptitude

Aptitude allows users to view a list of available packages and manage package installation, upgrade, and removal. If you haven’t already done so, run this command to install it.

sudo apt-get install aptitude

After that, you can now install steamcmd by following these steps:
