How to Install or Uninstall spectrwm Ubuntu 22.04

spectrwm is a small dynamic tiling window manager for X11. In this guide, I will show you how to install spectrwm on Ubuntu 22.04.

Requirements

  • Operating system: Ubuntu 22.04 or older versions with more than 2GB RAM
  • Privileges: Verify that you can execute the sudo commands line.

Prerequisites to install spectrwm on Ubuntu 22.04

Install spectrwm Ubuntu 22.04

Install spectrwm using APT

This is a popular method for installing any Ubuntu packages because it’s easy to follow, even if you are a newbie in Linux. Following these steps to install spectrwm on your Ubuntu 22.04.

Step 1: Update the APT database to fetch new packages from Ubuntu. Opening the terminal and executing this Linux command:

sudo apt-get update

Step 2: Start the package installation on Ubuntu 22.04. You can now install spectrwm Ubuntu by executing this command in the terminal.

sudo apt -y install spectrwm
