Ways to Install and Uninstall pelican on Ubuntu 22.04

Pelican is a static site generator, written in Python. It allows you to write your weblog entries directly with your editor of choice in reStructuredText or Markdown, and generates completely static output that is easy to host anywhere. Pelican includes a simple CLI tool to (re)generate the weblog and it is easy to interface with DVCSes and web hooks. I will show you how to install pelican on Ubuntu 22.04 in this guide.

Install pelican using APT

This is a popular method for installing Ubuntu packages because it’s easy to follow, even if you are a newbie in Linux. Following these instructions to install pelican on your Ubuntu 22.04.

Step 1: You must update the APT package repository cache before attempting to install, update, or remove any packages. Obtain new packages from Ubuntu by updating the APT database. Opening the terminal and executing the following Linux command:

sudo apt-get update

Step 2: Install the package on Ubuntu 22.04. After updating, you can install pelican Ubuntu by executing this command in the terminal.

sudo apt install pelican

Install pelican using Aptitude

If you didn’t install Aptitude on Ubuntu, you need to install it by executing this command.

sudo apt install aptitude

Then, you can now install pelican, just following these steps:

Step 1: Update the APT database to download new packages from Ubuntu. Launching the terminal and entering the following Linux command:

sudo apt -y update
