How to Install and Uninstall pcsx2 Ubuntu 22.04

Requirements

  • OS: Ubuntu 22.04 or older Ubuntu versions
  • Privileges: Check that you can run sudo commands.

Prerequisites to install pcsx2 on Ubuntu 22.04

Install pcsx2 Ubuntu 22.04

Install pcsx2 using APT

This is one of the popular ways to install any Ubuntu packages because it’s easy to follow, even if you are a newbie in Linux. Following these steps to install pcsx2 on your Ubuntu.

Step 1: The APT package repository cache needs to be updated before you try to install, update, or remove any packages. Obtain new packages from Ubuntu by updating the APT database. Opening the terminal and executing the following Linux command:

sudo apt update

Step 2: Start the package installation on Ubuntu 22.04. You can now install pcsx2 Ubuntu by executing this command in the terminal.

sudo apt-get -y install pcsx2

Install pcsx2 using Aptitude

Aptitude allows users to view a list of available packages and manage package installation, upgrade, and removal. If you haven’t already done so, run this command to install it.

Then, you can now install pcsx2, just following these steps:

Step 1: You must update the APT package repository cache before attempting to install, update, or remove any packages. Update the APT database to download new packages from Ubuntu. Launching the terminal and entering the following Linux command:

sudo apt -y update

Step 2: Start the package installation on Ubuntu 22.04. After updating the system, you can install pcsx2 Ubuntu by pasting this command into the terminal and pressing Enter.

sudo aptitude install pcsx2

Uninstall pcsx2 on Ubuntu 22.04
