Ways to Install and Uninstall m4 Ubuntu 22.04

GNU m4' is an implementation of the traditional UNIX macro processor. It is mostly SVR4 compatible, although it has some extensions (for example, handling more than 9 positional parameters to macros). m4’ also has builtin functions for including files, running shell commands, doing arithmetic, etc. Autoconf needs GNU m4' for generating configure’ scripts, but not for running them. Step 1: Update the APT database to fetch new packages from Ubuntu. Launching the terminal and entering the following Linux command:

sudo apt-get -y update

Step 2: Start installing the packages on Ubuntu 22.04. You can now install m4 Ubuntu by executing this command in the terminal.

sudo apt-get install m4

Install m4 using Aptitude

You must run this command to install Aptitude if you haven’t already done so on Ubuntu.

sudo apt-get -y install aptitude

sudo apt-get update
