LCOV is an extension of GCOV, a GNU tool which provides information about what parts of a program are actually executed (i.e. “covered”) while running a particular test case. Install lcov using APT

Step 1: You must update the APT package repository cache before attempting to install, update, or remove any packages. Update the APT database to download new packages from Ubuntu. Launching the terminal and entering the following Linux command:

sudo apt-get update

Step 2: Install the package on Ubuntu 22.04. After updating the system, you can install lcov Ubuntu by pasting this command into the terminal and executing it.

sudo apt -y install lcov

Install lcov using Aptitude

You must run this command to install Aptitude if you haven’t already done so on Ubuntu.

sudo apt install aptitude

sudo apt update
