Ways to Uninstall or Install dnf Ubuntu 22.04

Package manager forked from Yum, using libsolv as a dependency resolver. Dnf requires a working rpm installation and is meant to be used in chroots, see README.Debian for more information. In this guide, I will show you how to install dnf on Ubuntu 22.04.

Software Requirement

  • OS: Ubuntu 22.04 is needed for dnf to work
  • Privileges: Make sure that you can run the sudo commands line.

Prerequisites to install dnf on Ubuntu 22.04

Install dnf Ubuntu 22.04

Install dnf using APT

This is one of the most popular methods for installing Ubuntu packages since it is simple to understand, even if you are a Linux novice. Following these steps to install dnf on your Ubuntu 22.04.

Step 1: You must update the APT package repository cache before attempting to install, update, or remove any packages. Update the APT database to download new packages from Ubuntu. Launching the terminal and entering the following Linux command:

sudo apt update

Step 2: Start installing the packages on Ubuntu 22.04. You can now install dnf Ubuntu by executing this command in the terminal.

sudo apt-get install dnf

Install dnf using Aptitude

You must run this command to install Aptitude if you haven’t already done so on Ubuntu.

sudo apt install aptitude
