How to Install and Uninstall ctdb on Ubuntu 22.04

CTDB is a cluster implementation of the TDB database used by Samba and other projects to store temporary data. If an application is already using TDB for temporary data it is very easy to convert that application to be cluster aware and use CTDB instead. In this tutorial, I will show you how to install ctdb on Ubuntu 22.04.

Requirements to install

  • Operating system: Ubuntu 22.04 or older versions with more than 2GB RAM
  • Privileges: Verify that you can execute the sudo commands line.

Install ctdb using APT

This is a popular method for installing any Ubuntu packages because it’s easy to follow, even if you are a newbie in Linux. Following these instructions to get ctdb on your Ubuntu 22.04.

Step 1: The APT package repository cache needs to be updated before you try to install, update, or remove any packages. Update the APT database to download new packages from Ubuntu. Launching the terminal and entering the following Linux command:

sudo apt-get update

Step 2: Install the package on Ubuntu 22.04. You can now install ctdb Ubuntu by executing this command in the terminal.
