Ways to Install or Uninstall cl-fad Ubuntu 22.04

CL-FAD (for “Files and Directories”) is a thin layer atop Common Lisp’s standard pathname functions. It is intended to provide some unification between current CL implementations on Windows, OS X, Linux, and Unix. Most of the code was written by Peter Seibel for his book Practical Common Lisp. I will show you how to install cl-fad on Ubuntu 22.04 in this tutorial.

Install cl-fad using APT

Step 1: Update the APT database to download new packages from Ubuntu. Launch the terminal and enter the following Linux command:

sudo apt update

Step 2: Install the package on Ubuntu 22.04. After updating the system, you can now install cl-fad Ubuntu by pasting this command into the terminal and pressing Enter.

sudo apt-get install cl-fad

Install cl-fad using Aptitude

Aptitude allows users to view a list of available packages and manage package installation, upgrade, and removal. If you haven’t already done so, run this command to install it.

sudo apt install aptitude

After installing it, you can now install cl-fad by following these steps:

Step 1: The APT package repository cache needs to be updated before you try to install, update, or remove any packages. Update the APT database to download new packages from Ubuntu. Opening the terminal and executing this Linux command:

sudo apt -y update

Uninstall cl-fad on Ubuntu 22.04
