Ways to Install or Uninstall bwm-ng Ubuntu 22.04

Bandwidth Monitor NG is a small and simple console-based live bandwidth monitor. In this tutorial, I will show you how to install bwm-ng on Ubuntu 22.04.


  • OS: Ubuntu 22.04 or older Ubuntu versions
  • Privileges: Make sure you are able to execute sudo commands.

Prerequisites to install bwm-ng on Ubuntu 22.04

Install bwm-ng Ubuntu 22.04

Install bwm-ng using APT

This is a popular method for installing any Ubuntu packages because it’s easy to follow, even if you are a newbie in Linux. Following these steps to install bwm-ng on your Ubuntu 22.04.

Step 1: Update the APT database to fetch new packages from Ubuntu. Opening the terminal and executing the following Linux command:

sudo apt -y update

Step 2: Install the package on Ubuntu 22.04. After updating the system, you can install bwm-ng Ubuntu by pasting this command into the terminal and executing it.

sudo apt-get install bwm-ng

Install bwm-ng using Aptitude

Aptitude allows users to view a list of available packages and manage package installation, upgrade, and removal. If you haven’t already installed it on Ubuntu, run this command to do so.

After that, you can now install bwm-ng, just following these steps:

sudo apt -y update
